We've recruited an amazingly talented and generous group of speakers to share their expertise with us at Inspire 2012. In this Meet Our Speakers series of blog posts, we will introduce our speakers and some of their work. The Boudoir Photography class taught by Amber and Eric Langlois of Raw Photo Design is going to be a roomful of hot awesome. We are so excited to include this subject in our class lineup! Do we agree that there is so much more to stunning, dynamic, alluring images than just a pretty person in really pretty clothes.
That said, this boudoir shoot does feature an insanely pretty person, wearing some really, really pretty clothes.
But there is SO much more here.
Do we agree?
What is it? When I look at each image, I see confidence. I feel like I can almost read her mind in each shot, her expression and her eyes convey so much more than just beauty.
To this day, we are not satisfied until our client has connected with our camera. As photographers there are many different things that we do to facilitate that connection, and we are so fortunate to shoot real people. Nothing is more rewarding than that moment working with someone, when the switch flips, and they are transformed - instantly real, uninhibited and natural.
We encourage our boudoir clients, brides, actually anyone who we photograph to practice their facial expressions. A pose is virtually dead without that “look”, if you can close your eyes, imagine a thought, then open your eyes and convey that thought - you are on your way. The most expressive feature on a person's face is their eyes. They are seen as the "window to the soul" because they can give clues as to what another person is thinking.
We all know that when people just smile with just their mouths, the smile is probably fake, but when the smile includes the eyes, it is always genuine.
We are so excited to be teaching and sharing about the techniques that we utilize when we shoot Boudoir at the upcoming Inspire 2012!
Credit for makeup and styling for the images in this post goes to Lindsey Gallagher of Like Flutter for Lashes and I have to give credit to Josie of Beneath the Gown where the stunning lingerie was purchased for this shoot. I highly encourage our clients to go see her custom pieces and bridal lingerie, absolutely gorgeous.
And a huge, huge, huge shout out to this stunning client of ours, who did an insanely great job. She is sophisticated, stunning, glamourous, and completely killed it. Thank you so much for allowing me to share your portfolio, you made my job so fun! xo, Amber
