Call For Speakers 2012

The Inspire Team is currently accepting proposals for speaker presentations and hands-on shooting workshops for Inspire 2012. Presenters are chosen as much for their expertise in the field as for their commitment to elevating the industry in New England. We're looking for new and interesting speaking topics, and hope to open the door for fabulous photographer-speakers who are not on the usual photo conference speaking circuit. Speaking Proposal Guidelines

  • Applicants should have an established & successful photography business (or business within the industry they’re speaking on - i.e. accountants, lawyers, etc.), preferably with professional ties in New England
  • Applicants should have some public speaking experience, preferably on the topic proposed for Inspire 2012.  (Contact your local PUG to see if there are opportunities to “practice” in your area).
  • Applicants must submit their proposal no later than August 15, September 5, 2011. (edit: we know summer can be a crazy time for everyone, so we've extended the deadline by two weeks... hope this helps everyone who needed a bit more time!)
  • Applicants may submit as many proposals as they’d like - but must be on different topics
  • Keep in mind that Inspire attendees range from first year professionals to very seasoned - from part-time to full-time.  Applicants should know their target audience.
  • Sessions will be approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.  If you'd be interested in doing a longer session, please indicate how long you need and whether or not you can make it work in the normal slot.
  • Suggestions for topics we’d love to see covered include but are not limited to:
    • Legal issues in photography - contracts, sales tax, working with contractors, accounting, etc.
