Monday Night Welcome Keynote
We are thrilled to announce our keynote speakers for Inspire 2013! Amy Deputy will share her work at our Welcome Dinner on Monday evening... Amy is an accomplished wedding and portrait photographer who also has a large body of photojournalistic work. We invited her to speak at Inspire because her work is incredibly moving. So she's going to share her story and some of her work with us to kick off the conference with some visual inspiration.
Every time I scroll through Amy's blog I get more excited about her unique vision, awareness of light, and connection with her subjects. Amy's images are tender, honest, and brave... qualities that I wish were more common in personal photography but which often can be left in the fray. What really made me fall in love with her work, and compelled me to seek her out to see if she'd address our Inspire community is this slideshow that Amy compiled from 22 years of her work. Every time I look at this show I cry - this is as strong a reminder as any we'll see that we photographers must be generous and open to wherever our vision carries us.
Wednesday Lunch Keynote
Our closing keynote speaker is someone we've admired for many years... Style Me Pretty's very own Abby Larson! Abby's book was just released TODAY and we couldn't be more excited to get our hot hands on this beaut! Check it out here: Style Me Pretty Weddings: Inspiration and Ideas for an Unforgettable Celebration
During her talk Abby will take us behind the scenes with SMP, giving us a glimpse at her computer and the SMP editors' personal workflow, so that we can understand exactly how a submission goes from upload to publish. From there, she'll chat with us about how to differentiate your submission in order to up the chances of getting published, what it means to be published on SMP's various sites, and how you can adjust the way that you shoot to ensure your work is sought after by bloggers and publishers alike. This presentation is a candid look at the how/why/when/where behind SMP's selection process, and we'll be sure to save time for questions from the audience.
We are beyond excited to open the conference with an inspiring vision-oriented talk by AmyDeputy, and close the conference with kick-your-marketing-into-high-gear advice by Abby Larson. Hope you can join us - click here to buy your ticket!
